Funeral services for Annie Marie Lucas, 96, of Davenport will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Bethel AME Church, 323 West 11th Street, Davenport with Pastor Gregory Armstrong officiating. Burial will be the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. She departed this life on Thursday at the Clarissa C. Cook House, Bettendorf.
Visitation will be 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Church.

She was born March 14, 1921 in Davenport to the daughter of Rev. Frank K. and Marie (Searles) Nicholson. She served in the Air Force and Red Cross. She married Clark A. Lucas on November 4, 1945 in Adak Alaska, Davis Air Force Base. On June 5, 2001 he preceded her in death.
She received her BA in Physical Education from the University of Iowa. She retired as physical education instructor. For many years she served as the park director at the park the corner of 11th and Ripley (the former location of the Charles and Ann Toney’s barbershop.
She was a member of Bethel AME Church, Davenport, The Moline Conservatory, Orchid Society, Iris Society, Rose Club, Blackhawk Gem and Mineral Society, Davenport Horticultural Society, volunteer Scott County Adult Special Olympics, Handicapped Development Center Boosters, Muscatine Garden Club.
Annie’s wish please leave all memorials to Bethel A.M.E. Church, The Moline Conservatory, or Scott County Special Olympics.
Her hobbies included Horticulturist, collecting pottery, gardening, dance at YMCA, making jewelry, reading, teaching flower classes, flower arrangements, arranging and showing at flower shows, making pottery at the Beau Arts Pot Shop, Putnam Museum.
She leaves to celebrate her life a daughter, Marta A Lucas, Davenport and a son Clark A. Lucas, New Meadows, ID; and a sister, Marjorie Hopkins, CA., and two grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, Zenobia Hicks; brothers, Frank, George, Edward, Edwin, Donald, Vernal, Earl, Fred and Robert Nicholson.
