Ervie D Donelson

Funeral services for Ervie D. Donelson, 81, of Rock Island will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Third Missionary Baptist Church, Davenport with Pastor Rogers Kirk, Jr. officiating.   He departed this life on Wednesday at Unity Point Rock Island.  Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Davenport. 

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time at the Church.

Orr’s Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

He was born March 16, 21936 in Eads, TN the son of William and Alice (Holiday) Donelson.  He married Juanita Grandberry on December 23, 1954 in Mississippi.  He retired from John Deere Harvester, East Moline.  He was a member of Third Missionary Bpatist Church where he served faithfully as a Deacon and a usher for numerous years.  He was also a member of their male chorus.

His hobbies included watching Cubs baseball, barbecuing with his family.  He was strongly committed to his church family.  He loved bowling and watching Wheel of Fortune and Westerns.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita; sons, Ervie Jr., Ray (Andrea), Glen, Harvey (Jennifer) of Rock Island and Robert (Lisa) Donelson, Moline.  Sisters, Willa Mae Simon, San Diego, Permetra Morrow and Clarice (Charles) Miller, Rock Island, Dorothy (Walter) Hayslett and Era (Merritt) Caples, Davenport.  Brother William Donelson, Rock Island.  Eleven Grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
