Alfred Liddell, 61 of Rock Island made his transition to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Manor Care Health Center, Davenport Ia. Arrangements are being handled by Orr’s Mortuary, Rock Island. Friends are welcome to greet the family Thursday, September 18th at 10:00 a.m. until the services begins at 11:00 a.m. at Orr’s Orr’s Mortuary, Rock Island, IL
Alfred was born September 17, 1952 in Louisville, Mississippi to H.D. & Hattie Murl Liddell. Alfred was a lifelong resident of Rock Island, attending Rock Island School system and joining the United States Army serving his country from November 1970 until April 1972, Stationed in Fort Dix, New Jersey and from there to Germany, receiving and honorable discharge. Alfred also received the National Defense Service Medal in Sharpshooter Grenade.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Second Baptist Church Music Academy or Heart Land Hospice Memorial Fund, a very special thank you to Mark & Emily of Heart Land Hospice.
Alfred loved listening to old school music, in his younger days he was voted the best dressed man in the Quad Cites. Alfred loved his family and enjoyed being around his nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Surviving are his two sisters Ora Mae Lampkin (Carl) Rock Island, Rexie Tyson (Bryon) Milan, IL and one brother Johnny Ray Liddell of Los Angles, California. Three Aunties, Alberta Hayes, Emma Lee Babers & Castella Anderson, all of Chicago IL. Nephews: Gerald Liddell, San Antonio, Texas, Bryan Tyson Jr, Orlando, Fl, John Carr ll, Bettendorf, Nieces, Cynthia Reed, Bettendorf, Ia. Bengie Tyson, Nikki Carr, Rock Island, and a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins.
