Amy Catherine Blasko was born on January 25th, 1979, in Aledo, Illinois to Craig and Valarie (Johnson)Blasko. She was a 1997 graduate of Rock Island High School. She was married to Adam Ghys and Martin Baylor.
Amy was sure one of a kind. She was an animal lover and had even owned several guinea pigs, most with Star Wars names, 1 rabbit (Mr Bun E) as well as several dogs over the years. Her favorite dog was Smokey, and do not tell them but she was closest to Patches, Gizmo and Vader, but she had always loved her animals equally. Over the years growing up she also had many other pets including dogs and pet rats. She also liked to visit her sister Melissa’s house to visit and see her exotic reptiles that included several ball pythons, and a leopard gecko named Smudge, as well as the dogs she owned.
She loved spending time with her family & friends which was very important to her, especially with her daughter Alanna. She had a wonderful way of including everyone as much as possible and including them or “adopting them” into her family. To those “adopted family members” you know who you are.
Amy's interests were so many, they include but are not limited to- Bridgerton, gnomes, owls, Stitch, various local events, The Tree of Life, books, crafting, sewing, coloring, doodling/drawing especially roses, anything Disney especially Belle. She loved supporting and being an ally for the LGBTQ+ community. She loved going to Burlesque Shows, especially the Halloween shows and to the Pride events. Amy also enjoyed being involved with SCA. She also loved to travel to various places in the USA. She also enjoyed supporting the local community by shopping local as much as she could. She also enjoyed going to River Bandits baseball and QC Storm games (FKA QC Mallards), and The Mississippi Valley Fair. And all these are just a few of the things she enjoyed. And let's also not forget to mention that Amy was also an avid crafter doing anything and everything. Including leatherworking and crocheting her “F” bombs.
Amy will be remembered for so many things. Everyone who knew her has their own special memories of her to cherish. She will be remembered by those special memories we all keep of her as well as her huge & giving heart, adventurous spirit, unusual cooking style, and of course her warm & loving smile.
Left to cherish her memory are her dad, Craig Blasko. Sisters Melissa (Eric) Tulgetske, Tammy Pettay, Joni (Dave) Schlott. Brother Anthony “Tony” Bunten. Nieces Aaliyah Gosney, Alina Pettay, and Mina Bunten, and nephews Jackson Pettay and Terrance Fetter. Great Nieces Charlotte and Peyton Hensley. Aunt Lisa Fetter, Uncles Larry (Helen) Blasko, and Gregory Johnson. Her long-time best friends Bridget Smith, Lucas and Jess Dorethy. As well as her long-time special friend Chad Gill.
