Deaconess Brenda Drew-Peeples was born on February 28, 1947 to Jesse Drew and Gladys Alpine in Fresno, CA. The family later moved to Des Moines, IA where Deaconess Peeples finished her elementary education and graduated from the Des Moines Community School District. She obtained her under graduate degree from Drake University and her Law Degree from the University of Iowa School of Law.
In her earlier years, Deaconess Peeples was on a softball team called “Brad Wells Revenge”, named after a prominent court case. She loved making jewelry and was an avid thrifter, not to mention the keepsake queen, as she was very sentimental and saved many items that most individuals threw away. She enjoyed free hand painting and always saw the potential in everyone.
Deaconess Peeples was very photogenic and always camera ready and willing to be photographed.
Those left to cherish her memories include her son, Thomas (Jill) Traylor; daughter Vanessa (Kurt) Edeker; grandchildren Dominick, Kyra and Hendrix Edeker and a sister in Christ, Sandra Williams and a host of friends and her Church family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, James Ronald Drew and God mother Delois Burnham.
