Betty Muskeyvalley-Wilson, of Rock Island, IL, was called home the morning of September 10th, 2013.
Betty was born to the late Jim and Lucinda Anders (Travis), Dec. 28, 1928, in Moline, IL. She graduated from Moline High School in 1946, but moved her family to Rock Island after marrying the late Andrew Muskeyvalley 1948. She later married the late Theodore Wilson, of Ottumwa, IA in 1972.
While raising 10 of her own children, in addition to 6 others in Rock Island, Betty was the head of the housekeeping staff at the former Marycrest International University, where she, along side her lifelong friend Doris McQuay, was presented with the Spirit of Marycrest award after helping close it’s doors in 2002, culminating 42 years of committed service.
Betty was the image of selflessness, service, giving, and family. Her life was lead by love, by a heart that beat for humanity, by the gift of giving, and by a spirit stimulated only through service. She embraced perfect strangers like siblings, fed anyone with a stomach, and genuinely loved and cared for everyone indiscriminately, with a passion all the same.
Betty was preceded in death by six siblings.
Betty is survived by children: Robert Muskeyvalley (Roxie) of Rock Island, IL; Ronel Muskeyvalley (Teresa) of Springfield, OH; Roma Taylor (James) of Davenport, IA; Raymond Muskeyvalley (Joan) of Macomb, MI; Robin Taylor (Robert) of Rock Island, IL; Rodesha Muskeyvalley-Rush (James) of Davenport, IA; Renee Simmons (Willis) of Davenport, IA; Renita Muskeyvalley-Day (Reuben) of Little Rock, AR; Roshawn Wilson of Rock Island, IL; Theodore (Teddy) Childs of Rock Island, IL; Norman Culver of Rock Island, IL; Duncan Fallon of California; Carolyn McDowell of Detroit, MI; Terry McDowell of St. Paul; MN, Kim Wilson of Davenport, IA; Novella Wilson of Davenport, IA; Kenny Wilson of South Dakota; Christine Berry of Rock Island, IL; and Angela Bower of Moline, IL. She is also survived by a countless list of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and extended family, and friends.
Betty is survived by relatives and special friends: Charles and Louise Muscovalley, Granvil and Erma Jean Angel, Estella Banks, Doris McQuay and Sandra Griffith,
