In addition to his community and military service he spent 35 years of his life working at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring as an Equipment Specialist in 1982. After retiring from the Rock Island Arsenal, he spent over 10 years working for the Rock Island School System as a Teacher's Assistant.
Most importantly, he committed himself to a marriage of over 54 years to his loving, devoted and surviving wife, Mildred Shelton-Huff; eight children, Clarence William Huff III, Moline, Bruce Allston Huff (Evelyn), Houston, Deborah Sue Shivers (Curtis), Milan, Emily Vivian Huff-Ellis, Rock Island, James (Bobby) Johnson (Sheryl), Lucas, Texas, Kim Allen Huff, Rock Island, and Linda Christine Shivers (Richard), Rock Island; as well as 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
