Funeral service for Earl P. “Too Tall” Gardner, Jr. will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Orr’s Mortuary, 1326 4th Ave., Rock Island.  He departed this life on Sunday at his home.  Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the Mortuary.

He was born September 18, 1951 in Jackson, TN the son of Earl and Elizabeth (Utley) Gardner, Sr.

He worked at Martha White in Tennessee, John Deere in Moline and Rock Island Arsenal and various events in Davenport.

He loved to fish, and enjoyed being with close friends – Ebert Webb, J. D. Mitchem and vey devoted cousins, Horrace Jackson and Bernice Jackson.  He was a very devoted father and step-father, and close family members.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Loretta Mapunda Gardner; six daughters, Angelic Holden, Kim Overton, Cindy Overton, Kathy; stepdaughters, Tacha Mitchell, Roxanne Galbreath; five sons, Eric Crisp, Damion Overton, Tommy Overton, Brian and Anthony Mitchell; nieces, Sylvia Tyler, Bivian Roberts, Mary F. Renollet, Sandra Johnson, Aretha Owens; nephew, William H. Reaves

He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, grandparents, uncles and aunts as well as many friends.

He will be cherished and never forgotten.
