Eddie Frank Pitchford, 65, of Rock Island passed away Friday, June 6, 2014 at Trinity, Moline.  Visitation and Wake services will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Orr’s Mortuary, Rock Island.

Eddie was born on Friday, June 3, 1949 in Kansas City, KS to Eddie W. and Odessia M. (Waller) Pitchford.  He joined a travelling funk band at the age of 20 as an accomplished saxophone player.  He married Glory Jean Parks on October 18, 1980 in Rock Island.  He worked for Sivyer Steel in Bettendorf until his retirement in 2008. 

Eddie will be remembered by his wife of 33 years, Glory Pitchford, Rock Island; his three daughters, Natosha Pitchford, Tanisha Harris (Ashley) and Rachel Pitchford all of Rock Island; grandchildren, Arionna Pitchford-Simpson, Londyn Harris, Aelle Harris, Shaley Harris, Rock Island; sister, Carolyn Pitchford, Denver, CO; brother, Walter Pitchford, Kansas City, KS; Special Cousin, John Vertrese, Missouri; special friend, Charles Wells, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marilyn A Pitchford.
