Funeral services for Elaine "Lanie" Walker, 84, will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Orr's Mortuary, 1326 th Avenue, Rock Island.  She departed this life on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehab Center.  Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.

She was born July 2, 1928 in Corinth, MS the daughter of Edison and Anna Bell (Orricks) Alexander.  She married Harold Green Walker on March 21, 1945.

She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and was a member of Progressive Baptist Chruch, Davenport.

She retired from Bradley University in 1984 as a housekeeper.  She was a devloted mother, and loved to cook, sew and fish.

Survivors inculde her sons, Harold Walker, Jr., Bourbonnais, IL, Charles Walker, Kankakee, IL, Karl Walker, Chicago, IL, Earnest Walker, Iowa City, IA, Christopher Walker, Houston, TX; daughters, Charlotte Murray and Pamela Walker, Rock Island.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, twin sisters and two daughters.
