Exie Mae (Brown) Hood

Funeral services for Exie Mae Hood, 75, of Davenport will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Third Missionary Baptist Church, Davenport with Pastor Rogers Kirk Officiating.  Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

She departed this life on Saturday at Genesis Medical Center East Campus.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Church.   Additional visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Orr’s Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Exie was born March 24, 1941 in Taylor, MS the daughter of Leland and Eddie (Ivy) Brown.

Memorials may be made to the family.

She was a member of Third Missionary Baptist Church.  She retired from Kraft Heinz. She enjoyed reading the Bible, crossword puzzles, babysitting her grandchildren, baking cakes and pies and cooking and caring for her plants.

Survivors include a daughter, Amy Coleman, Davenport, sons, Tom, Houston, TX, Ervin, Cooperas Cove, TX, Prentiss, Fort Worth, TX, Larry Pegues, Davenport and Dennis Hood, South St. Paul, MN. Sister, Martha Brown, Davenport; brothers, Lee Russell, Dayton, OH, Hubert, Davenport, Leland, Jr., Batesville, MS, and Willie Brown, Davenport; a host grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Tevonie Hood, sister, Clara Brown; brother, Jessie (Ray), Lee Edward, W.L. (Pipe), Walter (Jack), and James Brown.
