Fannie Mae (Bobo) Brown Obituary

Deaconess Fannie Mae Brown was born April 14, 1942 in Water Valley, MS to Theodore Roosevelt Bobo and Prilla Steen Bobo.  She married Sylvester Brown, Sr. September 1, 1961.  He preceded her in death on October 21, 2001.  Fannie retired from Genesis West as a dark room technician.

Fannie accepted Christ at an early age.  Upon moving to Davenport she united with Third Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member attending Sunday School, Bible Study and served as a Deaconess.

She graduated from Davidson High School in Water Valley, MS and St. Ambrose University in 1996.  She was affiliated with the Commission for the Blind and CASI.  She was an avid walker and city bus rider who knew the routes and met many friends along the way.  She loved her independence and refused rides saying she wanted the exercise.

Survivors include a daughter, Cassandra Jones, Davenport, sons, Roderick Brown, Davenport; Maurice (Jodi) Brown, Indianapolis, IN, Sylvester (Erica) Brown, Jr., California, Maryland; stepson, George Rockett, Racine, WI; sisters, Maudean Willingham, Oxford, MS, Lillian (Alfred) Warren, Davenport; a brother, Fulton Bobo, Water Valley, MS; brothers and sisters-in-law, George (Lee Bertha) Brown, Sardis, MS, Jim (Eatha) Williams, Memphis, TN, William (Ever Lee) Magee, Waterloo, IA; Earlie (Willie) Hariston, Memphis, TN.  She had 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers, Matthew and Theodore Bobo, Jr.
