Ferguson Berry Payne, age 45, of Davenport, Iowa made his transition on Monday, September 25, 2023 while visiting family in Birmingham, AL. Ferguson was born on Saturday, January 7, 1978 at home to the union of the late Nathaniel Scot Payne and Janice Elizabeth Berry-Payne.

Affectionately known as “Ferg” or “Fergie”. After High School, he went by Berry, which he preferred.  Ferguson was very talented artistically.

Ferguson was a lifelong resident of Davenport, IA.  He went to Sacred Heart School from Pre-School to Junior High.  And, graduated from West High School in 1996.  He went on to Scott Community College, where he graduated in 2003 and was certified in Auto Body Repair.  He then returned to Scott Community College and was Certified in Welding. “Berry” worked at John Deere as a welder.

Berry was saved at an early age and was in church most of his life. He loved playing the drums and played in the West High School band. Berry loved praying, his family and going to his niece and nephews' games, dances and events.  He also loved playing with his granddaughters.  He was very kind and loving.  He had just signed up and trained to work the upcoming Davenport elections.

Special Aunt: Nancy Berry, Heide Curth, Special Friends: Tammy and Tressa Worrick and Chantel Johnson; Great Aunts: Elizabeth Martin, Clarksville, TN, Doris Jean Gaiter Leeds, AL, Great Uncle: Elmer Payne, Sr., Detroit, MI.
