Deacon Gilbert Robert Buie, 91, Died November 30, 2021, at Genesis East Hospital, Davenport, IA.

Deacon Buie was Born August 25, 1930, to Jimmy Buie and Azalee Israel in Marion, South Carolina.

Deacon Buie moved to Trenton, New Jersey where he worked for the State of New Jersey as a truck driver for the State. He received the baptism of the Holy Ghost at New Hope COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Edward Wolfe Sr. He Married Sis Geraldine Reid, and they formed a quartet called the New Hope Gospel Aires along with Brother David Doe and Sis. Carol Doe. The Gospel Aires opened for Gospel artist, the Jackson southern Aires, The Williams Brothers, The Dixie Hummingbirds, the Gospel Keynotes, and the Mighty Clouds of Joy. Deacon Buie loved praising God and praying.

Before moving to the Midwest, He was a member of Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church, Trenton, NJ where his Pastor was Bishop Joseph P. Ravenell Sr.

Deacon Buie moved to Iowa in 1988 where he joined New Hope Baptist Church where he served under the leadership of Pastor Zeddie McDowell Sr. Pastor McDowell was a spiritual father to Deacon Buie and whenever Pastor McDowell needed a driver. Deacon Buie was it. He was also a deacon at Mt. Olive COGIC. He later joined Mt. Moriah Jehovah-Jireh COGIC where he served as Chairman Deacon under the leadership of Pastor Donnell Owens.

Deacon Buie Married Sis Diane Hall, whom he cherished until God called him home.

Anytime you have a conversation with Deacon Buie, he will tell you to make sure you keep those two men with you, Grace, and Mercy.

Michael (Tina) Stubblefield, Spring Hill, FL, Frank Bradford, Spring Hill, FL, Howard (Connie) Bradford, Magnolia, DE, David Bradford, Spring Hill, FL, Marty (April) Riddick, Davenport, IA . Godson Joshua Holmes and special sons James L. Shorter Jr. Willie Albert shorter, Bryan McKillip and Special daughter Sharon Shorter.

41 Grandchildren and 51 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bro Jimmy Buie and Mother Azalee Buie, Wife Deaconess Geraldine Buie, and son Steven Bradford
