Gracie King (Mathis) Kelly

Funeral services for Gracie King Kelly, 76, of Davenport will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Third Missionary Baptist Church Davenport with Pastor Rogers Kirk Officiating. She departed this life on Friday at Good Samaritan Society Davenport.   Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. 
 

She was born February 11, 1936 in Abbeville, MS the daughter of Grandison and Espie (Herod) Mathis.  She married Robert Kelly November 1965 in Davenport.  She was a member of Third Missionary Baptist Church.
 

She was employed at Marycrest College as a professional cook.  She retired in 1996. 
 

Survivors include her husband, daughters, Barbara Haddox, St. Louis, MO, Doris Dabo, Cincinnati, OH and Linda Shannon, Davenport; sons, Royal Kelly, Davenport and stepson, Jessie Brown, Chicago; sisters: Emma Dennis, Cassie Washington, Maggie Jones and Fairsteen (Tina) Thomas, St. Louis, MO; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
 

She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brothers.
