James Earl Wilson, Sr.

James Earl Wilson Sr, transitioned on January 5, 2023. James was born August 12, 1947, in Oakland, Mississippi. He graduated from Davison High School in Water Valley, Mississippi.

At the age of 20 he joined the US Army. He then moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan and worked for GM. He then moved to the Quad Cities and was employed by Caterpillar and Oscar Mayer.  After retirement he truly enjoyed all of the children in the Moline School District where he was a crossing guard.

James enjoyed conversing with others about people, sports, history and current events. He was a military veteran and was a member of Marshall Brown Post #482.

James is survived by his wife Diane, 3 sons James Earl (Sandy), Reggie and Ryan. 2 stepchildren, Monique and Mario (Jessica) Williams, 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother MacArthur and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial service will be held at Orr’s Mortuary in Rock Island, Illinois on January 17, 2023, 3-5pm.
