Janet Lee Woods-Bragg

Funeral services for Janet Woods-Bragg, 66, of Davenport will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Third Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Rogers Kirk officiating. 

She departed this life on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.   Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday until service time at the Church.

Orr’s Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

She was born October 9, 1950 in Davenport the daughter of Odie and Geraldine (Cribbs) Woods.  She was a member of Third Missionary Baptist Church.  She graduated from St. Ambrose University.  She was employed as a teacher in the Davenport Community School District.  She later worked for the City of Davenport until 2012.  She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (Moline, Davenport Alumnae Chapter), Metro Com NAACP #4019 where she held the office of secretary, AAUW (American Association of University Women).  She enjoyed bowling and worked voter registration.

Memorials may be made to the family.

She leaves to mourn two sisters, Verna Woods, Cedar Rapids, IA and Louise Ewing, Marietta, GA; brothers, Louis Woods and Melvin Woods, Davenport and Eric Chamble, Augusta, GA

She was preceded in death by her parents.
