Jessie “Pepper” Jones Sr. , of Davenport IA, passed away on January 20, 2021 at Davenport Lutheran Home. Services will be held at Temple Baptist Church, 3526 N. Brady St., Davenport on Wednesday, January 27; Visitation - 9:30 -10:30 AM; Funeral - 11:00 AM.  Due to COVID-19 Restrictions, attendance will be limited and CDC guidelines will be followed.   

Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. 

Jessie was born May 6, 1923 in Dunn, Louisiana to Wiley & Zola Jones. He married Lucy (Bryant) Jones on November 17, 1952. She preceded him in death on March 21, 2015.

Survivors include his sons, Jessie Jones Jr. and Jerry Jones; daughters, Melinda Jones, Gwendolyn Reid, and Lesa (Yolandas) Dixon; niece, Patricia (Brad) Vaughn; nephew, John Bryant, and a host of family and friends.  

Arrangements have been entrusted to Orr's Mortuary, Rock Island.
