John Henry Carr Jr.  76 of Davenport Iowa transitioned to be with the Lord on September 18, 2016 at Select Hospital, Davenport, Ia.  

John was born July 24, 1940 in Jackson, Ms to John and Joetta (Warden) Carr. John grew with a strong faith in the Lord and attended church regularly in earlier years.  He made the Quad Cities his home at the age of 26 and spent the past 10 years living in Davenport.

John loved life and lived it’s to his fullest.  He was always dressed to impress and had a passion for music, Jazz and Blues being his favorites.  In his earlier years John enjoyed playing the drums and deeJaying in local clubs.  He was a man of many talents, refinishing furniture, drawing, painting and cooking to name a few.  John was a social butterfly and his presence was always felt.  His smile and style could light up any room.  John loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and cruising around town on his hover round.

He was preceded in death by his parents, left to carry  the family are sons:  John Carr III (Melissa), Bettendorf, Ia., Thelvin Carr, Jackson, Ms. Daughters:  Nikki Carr (Leroy Nimmers) Rock Island, IL  Angela Carr, Jackson, Ms. Cynthia Reed, Bettendorf, Ia.  Sister Billie Joe (Melvin) Chicago, IL.  Grandchildren:  John Carr IV,  Aliva Carr,  Kire Carr, Zamora and Derrick Davis, LaKesha Taylor, Vernon and Robert Reed, a host Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephew.
