Limmie Nell Brown Obituary

In loving memory of Limmie Nell Brown, born in Lafayette County MS., on October 12,1952, to Dorothy Brown and James E. Kelly. She moved to the Quad Cities at an early age, and attended school in the Davenport Community School District, graduating from Central High School in 1972. 


Nell became a member of Third Missionary Baptist Church, where   she was baptized during her younger years.


She was a dedicated employee at Brammers Manufacturing, where she was employed for 19 years.  Nell enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially


Her two granddaughters, Shaylyn and Karter.  Nell loved playing scratch tickets and pick 3 and pick 4.


Nell was the oldest sister on both sides of her family.  Those left to cherish her memories include her children, Angela Jordan and Felicia Brown, Davenport, IA and Devon Brown, Houston, TX.; her 2 granddaughters, Shaylyn Wellington, Davenport, IA., and Karter


Brown. Houston, TX,; siblings on her mother’s side include James (Roma) Taylor, Charles Taylor and Mary “Ann” Taylor, all of Davenport, IA., siblings on her father’s side include Elice (Elston) Chambers, Golden Valley, Louri Kelly, Jamie Kelly, and Regia Johnson, all of Waterloo, IA. And Asmar Kelly, Kansas City, MO., Aunts and uncles include Vera Couch, Willie Brown, and Vera Kelly, all of Davenport, IA., and Carl Johnson, Rock Island, IL  She is also survived by her closest friend “Missy” Lisle, as well as several nieces, nephews and additional family members.


Nell is preceded in death by her parents, all of her father’s siblings, brothers Robert Taylor, Fred Taylor, Rodney Taylor, Edward E. Kelly, Ray E. Kelly, Larry D. Kelly and a niece Taneka Kelly.
