Our beloved Linda Kaye Griffin, 69, passed away Thursday, February 19th, 2026, in Davenport, IA. She was born July 14th, 1956, to Flynn and Bertha Griffin. Linda was a member of Third Missionary Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and gave her life to Christ at an early age.
Linda was a 1974 graduate of Davenport West High School. She loved playing softball and acting. She was well-known for being a very good dancer, competing in various dance contests in the Quad Cities. She was a long-time choir member and soloist, and she could play the skins off of a tambourine, with her gifted expression of joy! Many knew her for her love, laughter and kindness.
Those left behind to mourn are her children, Michaela Gibbs, Muscatine, IA, and, Sheena Gibbs, Chicago, IL, and her special friend, their father Joe Gibbs of Muscatine, IA; siblings Vera Latresia (Keith) Thompson of Minneapolis, MN; Anthony Griffin, Lela Tarver, Vernita (Anthony) Oliver and Dung Griffin, all of Davenport, IA; two grandchildren, Sheena Gibbs of Davenport and Joe Gibbs of Muscatine, as well as her great-grandchildren: Amaya, Jordan, Carlos, O'dell, Pryden, Amora, Ender.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents, nephew Isaiah Tarver, and great-grandson Demetrius Gibbs.
Linda leaves behind aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and a hosts of cousins and friends. She will be dearly missed by all.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
