Funeral services for Lorine Gatheright, 88, of Rock Island will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Greater Antioch Baptist Church, Rock Island.  Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. 

Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Greater Antioch Baptist Church.

Lorine Gatheright died Thursday, August 21st at Rosewood Care Center, East Moline.  She was born August 20, 1926 to Tee and Gussie Hudson in Louisville, MS.  Lorine married Johnnie Gatheright in 1958 in Monmouth, IL.

Lorine was employed as a cook for several years at the Plantation Restaurant and later retired from Town & Country restaurant as head cook.  Lorine had a great love for her family, she enjoyed cooking and preparing meals as a way of gathering the family together on a regular basis.  She had a love for gardening and flowers and was also an avid college basketball fan.

Survivors include her children Bette (Robert) Harris, Rock Island, James Coleman, Rock Island, Earnestine Coleman, Rock Island, Robert Coleman, Rock Island, Charline Toliver, Rock Island and Lenford (Debbie) Coleman, Silvis.  Stepchildren, Toby Gatheright, Preston, MS, Richard Gatheright, Cleveland, OH, Dorothy Gatheright, Cleveland, OH, Margie Gatheright, Omaha, NE and Helen Gatheright, California.  Siblings, Odelia Cotton, Rock Island, Willie Bea (Rev. Levi) Gilespie, Rock Island, Helen Carruthers, Rock Island, Delsine Hurst, Omaha, NE, Christine (Howard) Harris, Omaha, NE, Charlie (Elvira) Hudson, Portland, OR, Milton (Erma Jean) Hudson, Rock Island.  16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren.

Lorine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers, Sylvester, L.T., Luther and Gabe Hudson, a son Willie Roy Coleman, daughter-in-law Francis Coleman, son-in-law Edward Toliver, grandson, Todd Ganaway and great great grandson, Lyrik Phillips.
