Louis “Buck Woods was born October 19, 1949 to Odie and Geraldine (Cribbs) Woods; then raised by Rufus Scott and Geraldine Scott.
As a lifelong resident of Davenport, Buck graduated from Central High School.
He worked as a labored at John Deere, retiring in 2007. He was also a member of UAW Local #79.
On July 17, 1977, he received his Minister’s License from the Church of God in Christ in East Moline, IL.
Buck loved all things related to sports; especially the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. He enjoyed going on trips, concerts and festivals. He was a collector of many things including coins, souvenir spoons, hats, clothing and shoes.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, LouMashia Woods, Grand Prairie, TX. Sons; Alprentice (Kecia) Woods, San Diego, CA. William (Shanetric) Woods, Ft. Worth, TX, and Nathaniel (Johnna) Woods, Arlington, TX. Thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Sister; Verna Woods, Cedar Rapids. IA. brothers; Melvin Woods, Davenport, IA, Eric Chamble, Augusta, GA. And a host of additional family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Louis Woods is preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters; Janet Woods-Bragg and Louise Woods.
