Lula Beatrice Babers, 80, of Rock Island  departed this life Saturday at Genesis Silvis Hospital.

She was born September 1, 1936 in Crenshaw, MS the daughter of Howard and Willella (Leach) Jones. She married Benjamin Babers in Chicago in 1959.  He preceded her in death.   She was a member of Second Baptist, Rock Island. She worked at John Deere.   She loved serving others in the Lord’s capacity.  She enjoyed bowling, watching football and basketball.  She loved to shop.

Survivors include a son Tyrone A. (Rose) Babers, Rock Island sisters, Jewel Tyler, Chicago, Velma Conerly, Chicago, Rose Carson, Michigan, Ester Norwood, CA, Billie Grace Harris, MS; brothers, Lee S. Jones, Sardis, MS, Alfred and Albert Jones, CA; grandchildren, Cheryl and Jason Babers, Rock Island and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; sisters, Georgia Jackson, Louise McNeese, and Clara Jones.
