At 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 8, 2015, the gates of heaven opened up letting in Raymond Lewis Morrow, formerly of Rock Island, born April 4, 1937, in Memphis, Tenn.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at Third Missionary Baptist Church, Davenport, with visitation from 10 a.m. to services. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Arrangements are by Orr's Mortuary, Rock Island.
In 1982, Raymond retired from International Harvester Farmall Tractor Works, to pursue his own enterprises.
Raymond will be missed by his family, friends and the community.
Raymond leaves to cherish his memory, sister, Rosie Morrow-Johnson; daughters, Christine Morrow, Annette Morrow, Bridgett Morrow and Jameane Bolton; son, Kenny Morrow; stepchildren, Rhonda Hart, Carlos Bolton, Lester Ross and Lorenzo Faison; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Awaiting him at the gates of heaven are his parents, Joe and Rosie Morrow; his two wives, Carol J. Holland-Morrow and Lettie Mae Williams McQuitter; brothers, Eddie Morrow, L.C. Morrow, J.B. Morrow, James Morrow, Robert Morrow; sisters, Leola Peague, Maybell Morrow, Dorothy Wilson; son, Raymond L. Morrow Jr.; daughter, Carmen Morrow; and grandson, JaVelle Ja'Born Williams.
