Rhonda Marie (McCullough) McNeair, 71, of East Moline, IL died peacefully Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Genesis East, Davenport, IA surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 14, 1952 in Moline, IL to Lawrence McCullough and Lillian L. Hassell, the third oldest of seven children.

Rhonda graduated from Rock Island High School and attended Black Hawk College. She was employed at Modern Woodmen of America, retiring after 42 years.

She married Sheridan McNeair in 1971 in East Moline, IL and from this union they had two sons, Darwyn and Sheridan Jr. Rhonda was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church, Rock Island where she sang with the Ultimate Sounds, served on the Hospitality Committee, Trustee Helpers, and Kitchen Committee.

Rhonda loved bowling, Harris Pizza, and taking her son Darwyn to Whitey’s. Rhonda was the family historian that shared the treasured memories and experiences of family. Thanks to Rhonda for being the memory keeper that linked our hearts together. She enjoyed going to Mr. Homegrown and visiting the apple orchard. Rhonda loved QVC and shopping for jewelry, cooking, and baking her strawberry pretzel dessert for family gatherings. She loved cats but most of all Rhonda loved social media, especially Facebook. Of all these things, she loved spending time with her grandson DJ. She will be most remembered for her beautiful smile that would light up the room and her hats and sunglasses.

She is survived by her son Darwyn Kane McNeair (Katrina), Stone Mountain, GA, brothers Lawrence McCullough Sr., Rock Island, Ronnie McCullough, Davenport, IA, sisters, Cheryl L. McNeal, Moline, Karen R. Banks, Milan, IL, Sharon K. McCullough, Miami, FL, one grandson, Darwyn McNeair Jr., and a host of over 30 other nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by both parents, all grandparents, brother Bruce McCullough and infant son, Sheridan Jr.
