Standisha Walker

Standisha Demittie Yakisha Walker was born on May 19, 1980 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Linda Williams and Standish Walker.

Disha, as she was affectionately called, was educated in the Davenport Community School District.  Although she did not finish, she obtained her GED and went on to attended the American Institute of Commerce, (AIC).  In addition, she also worked as a C.N.A. and at McDonalds prior to her illness in 2004.  

Standisha was a very sassy, no-nonsense, outgoing, fun and loving person to be around.  She loved the outdoors and totally adored her family. Her hobbies included camping, fishing, Bingo and going to movies.

Those left to cherish her memories include her mother, Linda Williams, Cedar Falls, IA; daughter Aaliyah, TX; sons Ray’Mone and Latuan, both of Davenport, IA and Antwun, FL; sisters Kennisha, Davenport, IA and Alexia, Coralville, IA; 2 grandchildren brothers Marquis, Jerrel, Lorenzoe and Rashaun of Davenport, IA, Terrel of Phoenix, Az, Deante, MS and Devron, MN., and a host of additional family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Standish Walker; grandmother, Cora Hall and uncle, Glen Williams.
