William Alexander Glover departed this life early on the morning of December 25, 2022. He was born July 31, 1940 in Cayce, South Carolina to Heyward Glover and Rudine Reaves. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1962 at the age of 18. He went on to serve in Vietnam and other capacities abroad and domestic before retiring from a distinguished career. He would continue service as a civilian before ending his 37 year career.
William was an avid Sci-Fi fan and enjoyed watching television series such as Dr. Who and Star Trek. He loved fixing things and working on a variety of projects. He loved people and enjoyed talking to everyone he came across, discussing a variety of topics ranging from biblical stories to politics to the stock market. He was a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church in Davenport, IA where he served in many capacities and participated in a variety of events and activities.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 47 years Deloris (Pierson), Children: William II, Raleigh, NC, Takesha (Kalpesh Patel), Crest Hill, IL, Terrence, Davenport, IA, Terrez (Amber), Davenport, IA, Siblings: Rose Mae Glover, Derrick Thomason, Covette Thomason, Ardene Thomason, Dezette Sowell, and Darnell Thomason, 5 Grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
