William S Thomas

Funeral services for William S. Thomas, 75, of Rock Island will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Orr’s Mortuary, Rock Island.  He departed this life on Tuesday at Heart Land Health Care, Moline.  Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.

Visitation will be Monday 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Orr’s Mortuary, Rock Island.

He was born January 23, 1941 in South Bend, IN the son of William S and Nebraska (Bowles) Thomas.  He married Betty Jean Murphy in Las Vegas, NV in 1995.He served in the US Army.  He was employed for 33 years at John Deere Seeding, Moline.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, daughters, Annetta (John) Fuller, Dallas, TX, Sharon (Patrick) Appleman, Colorado Springs, CO; Andrea Perteet, Pontiac, MI and Mae (Fenton) Mickeal, Rock Island; sons, Anthony (Rhonda) Murphy, Brooklyn Park, MN and Carlos (Pamela) Murphy, Huntsville, AL; a sister, Annetta (Benjamin) Townsend, South Bend, IN.

His parents and one sister, JoAlices, preceded him in death.
