Alma "Pete" Foulks Obituary

Former Rock Island resident, Alma (Pete) Foulks, was called home on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 in Minneapolis, MN.

Alma was born on December 19, 1938 in Charleston, MO to George and Rosie B Jones. After graduating high school, she moved to Chicago, IL.  It was then that she met and married the love of her life, Otis Garvin Foulks on July 12, 1962. They later moved to Rock Island, IL and to this union three children were born; Otis Garvin Foulks Jr, Ronald Wayne Foulks, and Carlotta Foulks. Alma worked for years caring for others as a nursing assistant. She also worked beside her husband in various businesses that they owned throughout the years. Following retirement, she moved to Minneapolis, MN to be closer to her children.

Alma was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church in Rock Island.  She loved to cook for family and friends, she loved working outside in the garden, but most of all she loved to shop. She was definitely all about fashion with hats to match every outfit.

She leaves to cherish her memories; son, Ronald Wayne Foulks of Minneapolis, MN, daughter Carlotta (Erroll) Foster of Minneapolis, MN, sisters Shirley (Johnny) Gay and  Ardella Bennett of Rock Island, IL, and Subrine Northern of Cedar Rapids,IA, 12 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Otis Garvin Foulks Sr., son Otis Garvin Foulks Jr. special grandson Terrance Donnell Foulks, brothers Angelo Jones and Eugene Jones, sister Loretta Vesey, and great grand daughter Tian Rush.
