Funeral services for Eddie Lee Jones, 81, will be 12 p.m. Wednesday at Greater Antioch Baptist Church, Rock Island.  Burial will be at a later date.   He departed this life on Tuesday, May 16, at St. Anthony’s Continuing Care, Rock Island. 

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Church.

Orr’s Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

He was born August 21, 1935 in Humboldt, TN the son of Robert Lee and Bertha (Gant) Jones.  He married Ethelene Edwards in Rock Island.  He retired from Caterpillar Tractor. He was a member of the Rock Island Elks. He loved fishing and barbequing

 

He is survived by his wife of  thirty-seven years, Ethelene; daughters, Linda Simmons and Glenda Freelove, Rock Island, Yvonne Williams, Silvis and Wanda Sykes Moore, Texas; sisters, Clara Cole, Mattie Sewart, Dorothy Montjoy, Rock Island and Nellie Thompson, East Moline; brothers, Alan Jones, Rock Island and Willie Jones, Milan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Freddie Louise; brothers, Bobbie, Robert and James Jones.
