Memorial service for James Earl Coleman, Sr.,70, of Rock Island  will be 12:00 – 2:00p.m. Saturday at Orr’s Mortuary, Rock Island.  He departed this life on Friday at his home.  Burial will be at a later date.

He was born April 27, 1947 in Meridian Mississippi the son of Willie Jeff and Lorine (Gatheright) Coleman.  He Married Frances Ann Woods on June 30, 1973. She preceded him in death.  He was employed at Case IH Plant as a machinist.  He was a member of Progressive Baptist Church, Davenport.

He loved music, his collection and hanging with his buddies at Sunset Park.

He is survived by a son, James E. Coleman, Jr., Rock Island; sisters, Bette (Robert) Harris, Earnestine Coleman and Charline Toliver, Rock Island; brothers, Robert, Rock Island and Lenford (Debbie) Coleman, East Moline; two grandchildren.

His parents preceded him in death.
