John Wayne (Hook) Clay Obituary

He departed this life on Friday, April 14, at Unity Point Heath Care, Rock Island.

Orr’s Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

He was born October 7, 1939 in Satin, TX the son of Floyd and Olivia (Douglas) Clay. 

He retired from John Deere Plow and Plant, East Moline, where  he was employed as a welder.  He married Pearlee (Smith) on December 27, 1999 in Rock Island.

He enjoyed playing Dominos King (self claimed), playing cards, fishing, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

Survivors include his wife; daugthers, Ada and Ray Wilson, Rock Island, Eileen Henderson, Moline, Shirley Clay, Rock Island and stepdaughter, Georgia Smith, Rock Island; sons, John W. Hunt, Iowa, Raymond Clay, Rock Island and Donald Clay, MN; sisters, Bobby Jean Tucker, TX, Ruby Gray, CA, Shirley and Roland Martin; brothers, Joe Clay, CA, Robert and Karen Clay, IA and Floyd and Olivia Clay; 17 grandchilden.
